U-pick raspberry season is finished for 2016.
Pick-Your-Own raspberries are available every Thurs,
Fri, Sat & Sun from 10am-5pm through the month of Sept and into
October until 1st killing frost. All raspberry rows are
trellised for easy picking. (cash or checks are welcome but
sorry, we do not accept credit cards)
While we still have a large raspberry patch, we have reduced its size in half because of Spotted Winged Drosophila (SWD), an invasive Asian fruit fly in Wisconsin. This new fly lays its eggs in ripening fruit. While the egg is miniscule, it will in time develop into a small larvae and accelerate spoilage. Because of this, we needed to reduce our patch size to increase our control on raspberry supply. With our reduced patch size, we can no longer guarantee u-pick raspberry availability. Therefore, the best berry picking opportunities will be on Thursdays and Fridays. We currently have two UW studies in progress to help us effectivly control this new pest in a sustainable manner. We will have to stay at our current size until an effective sustainable management practice is developed.
Pick-Your-Own Apples are
available every Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun from 10am-5pm through
September and October until the first weekend in
November. Check out the apple variety page for more info on
Depending on how Mother Nature effects the growing season, some years we start raspberry season earlier than expected in August with U-pick raspberries only with limited hours available. If so, I will update on facebook. Peak season for autumn raspberries is always early September.
Our ridge land raspberry
patch has scenic views and a quiet setting. Up on the ridge,
far away from any highway, it is a great place to slow down,
decompress and reconnect with the land. Life is always busy,
but enjoying some time outside in the country does wonders for the
soul and creates a memory to last those cold winter months, plus you
have the added bonus of fresh picked raspberries for your
